Biography
What is your background?
Astrid Lans grew up in the idyllic village of Stocksätter with creative materials all around her and the freedom to experiment and explore in any direction she wanted. Her creative roots run deep through her lineage and Life is her teacher. She works from her home in North Cornwall, UK. “Prusts Farmhouse” is her family’s life project. Here she lives creatively and remotely with her partner and their two daughters.
After an international career in Consumer Relationship Management and Market Research, Astrid began showing her art to the public eye in 2020. It was her journey into Motherhood that helped her reconnect with her creative core.

About Astrid's art:
Astrid's inspiration comes from Mystic Womanhood, Swedish Folklore and Mother Nature.
The Queens in her series “We’re all Queens” constantly sends humanity reminders of the divine feminine and the powers we mustn’t forget about. Astrid wants her Queens to be a voice that reminds you of your endless power and your bright inner light. She creates what she think of as elders’ words of wisdom as titles for her Queens and some chosen Queens have their own written short story. These Queens are here to help us get in touch with our Mystic side of Womanhood, the side that has been suppressed for millennia.

In her art on paper, she mainly work with gauche, watercolour and ink on heavyweight watercolour paper. She also adventure into larger paintings on canvas with acrylic and oil pastels.
